About Us

We are a small registered 501(c)(3) not for profit charity that is completely operated by volunteers. Our team donate a good portion of their time and expertise in running our fund-raising operations and other projects.

Past projects included a major renovation of the Magee Marsh boardwalk, native re-plantings, an observation tower over the marsh, and signage. 
Our most recent fundraising was to assist with the repairs and modifications to the boardwalk after a vicious straight-line windstorm struck in the early morning hours of August 10th, 2021. The storm up rooted and toppled trees on the boardwalk causing serious damage in some areas. We have several other projects in the works which will further enhance the Magee Marsh Wildlife Area.

In addition, we hold bi-annual beach clean ups and in April – May perform several garlic mustard pulls in April – May.

As knowledge of Magee Marsh as a birding destination has spread, our small gift shop with its unique array of items has grown to be a valuable source of income to help fulfill our mission.
